The Thunder Road Marathon will be run Dec. 9, and the route goes right down Hawthorne Lane. Make sure you take that into consideration when you're making your Saturday morning plans.

We need to make an effort to bring neighbors out to support runners for future races. Many marathon runners are from out of town and judge the city and individual communities by the neighbors that comes out to cheer runners.

I think that's a great idea. It's kind of neat to watch the runners and they do appreciate the support.
